Biological and prosthetic complications of cantilevered and non-cantilevered fixed hybrid metal acrylic prostheses used for vertical and inclined implants in atrophied mandible. A randomized clinical trial.

Aim: This study aimed to evaluate biological and prosthetic complications of cantilevered non-cantilevered fixed hybrid metal acrylic prostheses used for vertical inclined implants in atrophied mandible. Materials Methods: Eight completely edentulous individuals will be classified into 2 groups randomly: 1) Group I (cantilevered prosthesis, n=4): patients received 4 parallel each other’s the interforaminal area 2) II (non-cantilevered (2 anterior posterior 30odistally) prosthesis. Biological were measured after one year from prosthesis insertion. Results: There was no significant difference implant failure, survival, pain, swelling, abscess, fistula formation, peri-implantitis, peri-implant mucositis, bleeding on probing between groups. The group showed significantly higher pocket depth than group. bone loss fractures, cylinder fracture, abutment screw fracture occurred both teeth wear, gingival a crown screw, loosening Conclusion: Both can successfully respectively mandible with favorable biologic outcomes year.
